Current Release

Name: SNG7-FPBX-64bit-1611-1
Release Date: 2016-11-17

Update Method

From previous versions of SNG7

  • Run the command "yum update" as root.

From FreePBX Distro 10

  • Currently not supported. (Work in Progress)

Changelog

  • FreePBX Version 14.0.1alpha34
  • Sangoma OS Updated to 1611-1
  • Asterisk Versions
    • 11.24.1
    • 13.12.2 (Includes Opus and Silk codecs)
    • 14.1.2 (Includes Opus and Silk codecs)
  • Complete UEFI Support
  • Add ability to write directly to USB drive for installing from USB
    • Historically, we have provided a .img file and an .iso file. This is no longer needed, as the .iso file can be written to USB media (using 'dd' or 'win32diskimager' or similar) and installed from there without any changes
  • Add kernel drivers that are missing from Upstream.
    • These drivers are missing in the Upstream distribution. Adding them to SNG7 means that many machines that were previously unable to use RHEL7 (or its derivatives) are now able to install and run Sangoma OS 7.
    • Storage Drivers Added
      • HP CCISS SCSI Driver
    • Network Drivers Added
      • Via Rhine
      • Via Velocity
      • nVidia Forcedeth
  • Serial Installer completely reworked
    • Due to various bugs in Anaconda, it is not possible to reliably install using the Text Console.  This text console has been deprecated. When you pick 'Serial Install' your machine will request a DHCP IP address, and you will be prompted to connect to that with the VNC client of your choice. You will then be able to proceed as if it was a normal install through a VGA console
  • Kernel Modules no longer require rebuilding
    • Asterisk, Dahdi and Wanpipe kernel modules are now built using the kABI, which removes the requirement to rebuild them for every kernel release. This means that upstream kernel upgrades will no longer have to be delayed while matching kernel modules are compiled.
